HOZON AUTO ELECTRIC CARS
Zhejiang Hezhong New Energy Vehicles introduces a new brand for electric vehicles dubbed Hozon Auto and known in China as Hezhong Qiche. The company was founded in 2014 and established in Tonxiang, Jiaxing City in the Zhejiang Province. Hozon qualified as the 13th automaker to receive an electric vehicle production certificate allowing it to produce 50,000 units per annum. Hozon unveiled its first concept vehicles, a compact crossover named @, at the 3rd World Internet Conference held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province during November 2016. The Hozon logo looks surprisingly similar than that of Mercedes and the rendering in the marketing material looks like that of an old generation Buick Lacrosse, while the @ like a Tesla Model X.
Hozon Auto has an affiliation with the Tsinghua University in Beijing, who’s Department of Automotive Engineering helped creating the @ concept car. Hozon Auto plans to bring a an open Internet car platform to being.

Week 16 2017 - Hozon Auto receives EV production permit
EV start-up Hozon Auto this week became the 13th automaker to be granted a permit to produce electric vehicles in China. Hozon Auto applied for a 100,000 unit permit but was only granted the minimum production allocation of 50,000.

China’s 2018 batch of new EV models have some surprisingly good cars threatening Western automakers still grappling how to catch-up to the increased popularity of EVs. While big auto plans to bring new models to market in 2020 China is already pushing out large amounts of new EV models.
