Riversimple Electric Vehicles
Riversimple, a British company, based in Llandrindod Wells, Wales manufacturers Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs). The Riversimple Hydrogen Vehicle challenges factors that are holding back the full-scale commercial adoption of the technology, namely affordability, and safety. Riversimple will start with a 20-car pilot project of the Rasa in Monmouthshire later this year, with commercial production scheduled for 2018. The company aims to develop a four-door and delivery van version of the Rasa, its flagship model designed by Chris Reitz, who also designed the Fiat 500. The company is currently funding through crowdfunding on its website and deploy a mobility as service business model, where it will keep ownership of the vehicles and lease a complete package of services for a single monthly cost. It further plans to have small manufacturing units close to markets that would be able to assemble 5,000 units per year. The company is currently crowdfunding capital for the production of the Beta units. |
