FAW Toyota Ranz Electric Vehicles
The joint venture between Toyota and FAW
registered as Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Company (SFTM) announced in
April 2013 is situated in Chengdu City, Sichuan. The JV is called Ranz,
or Lang Shi in Chinese means meaning Bright Life. SFTM was the first
company outside Japan to produce the Toyota Prius. Many believe Toyota is just playing lip service to the Chinese Government by developing Battery Electric Vehicles, as it strays from the company’s chosen path of Fuel Cell Vehicles. |
