Han Teng electric cars are produced by Han Teng Automobile Co., Ltd., established in November 2013, is located in Jiangxi Shangrao Economic and Technological Development Zone. Han Teng produces combustion and new energy vehicles and has its own key auto parts research and development, production and sales. Han Teng is owned by Jiangxi Ganzhou Jianghuan Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. It was rumored that Han Teng is owned by Zotye / Zhongtai Automobile due to the relationship between Jiangxi Ganzhou Jianghuan Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd and Zhongtai, but the relationship is only a supplier client relationship as Jiangxi supplies spare parts to Zhiongtai. The name Han Teng is loosely derived from combining the Han dynasty, representing China’s most powerful era with Teng which is a metaphor for a horse. The logo is criticized for being a knock-off of that of Ferrari. Han Teng’s EV strategy is the producing of a PHEV SUV in 2016, compact BEV SUV in 2017 and an A+ class BEV SUV while it will develop a small compact BEV sedan and a small BEV MPV in 2018. Han Teng also plans to develop FCEVs in the future. The sales channel will expand from 150 locations in 2017 to 500 in 2020, focussing on second-tier cities with a sales target of 500,000 units per annum. Production at the Han Teng Auto Industrial Park is phased, starting with the construction of a 150,000 unit line followed by upgrades to reach 300,000 and then 450,000. Han Teng’s general manager is Mr. Li Xueming. The company has signed a strategic partnership with Samsung around is drivetrain development. The automaker and the Mahle Group has an agreement to produce its combustion engines and also has agreements with Bosch, Valeo, Mira, Segula, and Continental.
