GEELY ZHI DOU D2 EV
(AKA “KNOW BEANS”)
Geely & Xin Da Yang launched the ZD D2 in June 2015. The Geely Zhi Dou D2 EV is the first model from the joint venture established earlier in 2015 between Geely Holding Group and Xindayang. The JV company is called Zhi Dou Electric Vehicle Corporation, and the brand is also known as Ninghai Know Beans. The D2 is designed specifically as a city vehicle but Highway Capable, therefore not just a Neighbourhood Electric Vehicle. The JV company also produces a variant of the vehicle as the Zotye E20. The ZD D2 is fully connected to make it IoT-ready and includes a full complete Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that includes a camera, anti-collision warning, and lane departure warning.
The vehicle is distributed via Xindayang’s 400 experience centers, three e-commerce platforms: the Geely Tmall.com store, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China’s e-commerce platform, and new energy vehicle online platform Diandong.com. Marking a departure from the traditional dealership model.
