According to Daimler the Freightliner eM2 106 is intended for local distribution operations in the food sector and last-mile delivery services. Daimler launched a pilot program of the eM6 and Freightliner eCascadia in June 2018 whereby it will test 30 of the trucks with some of its specialist customers. Serious production of the eM6 for the North American market will only start in 2021.
