Week 44 2018 - Chevrolet unveils an electric drag racer
Chevrolet unveiled an electric version of its iconic Camaro Copo V8 drag racer at the SEMA automotive parts and aftermarket mods show now in Las Vegas. The Chevrolet Camaro eCopo is equipped with the two electric motors that are mated together to produce over 700 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque allowing the vehicle to accelerate to a quarter mile in 9 seconds, which is marginally faster than the 2017 COPO. The battery pack consists of 4 200V modules situated two under the rear seats and two in the trunk which gives the eCOPO Camaro an approximate 56 percent rear-weight bias, ideal to launch the car more efficiently.
