Bordrin Electric Vehicles
Bordrin is an EV startup based in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province since its inception in 2016. Bordrin’s EV strategy is centered around three pure electric platforms, i-SP, i-MP and i-LP. The i-SP platform is positioned as young, stylish, interconnected, balancing cost and performance, and is primarily used in A0 to A class vehicles. The i-MP platform is positioned as the main platform for the mid-range models of Bordrin. The i-LP platform is the flagship platform, which is also used in high-end cars. The iV6 is built on the i-MP platform and the iV7 on the LP platform is an SUV. Bordrin said that this is a global model, designed according to the safety standards of Europe and North America, and will be sold to Europe, America and North America in the future. Bordrin Motors was established in August
2016 by founder and president Dr. Huang Ximing, a graduate of Virginia
Tech University. Dr. Ximing worked for Ford Motor Company in the United
States for more than ten years. In 2007, he started his own company,
Advanced Vehicle Technology (AVT) in Detroit, focused on developing
lightweight vehicle chassis, including that aluminum frame and chassis
of the Fisker Karma and Atlantic. In 2008 he founded a second company
Shanghai Sizhi Automotive Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., which focus
on the production systems for auto plants and boasts a range of clients
including SAIC, FAW, and BYD for the Qin and Tang model lines. The
experience and deep knowledge of vehicle development are expected to
provide Bordrin a leg up on other EV start-ups. Bordrin employees a world-class R&D team in China and Detroit, USA and aims to compensate for its late entry into the market through the establishment of a large production base with a 700,000 unit capacity by 2023. The first plant with a phase one capacity of 100,000 vehicles is being constructed in the Pukou Development Zone of Jiangbei New District, Nanjing. The 1,300 mu plant has a budget of 10 billion yuan and will produce 300,000 electric vehicles once completed. The first phase of 5 billion yuan is funded by the Nanjing Shipu New Energy Industry Fund. Bordrin also entered into a strategic co-operation agreement with the Shanghai Lingang Economic Development Group Co., Ltd to establish a plant in the Lingang Industrial Zone with a budget of 3.5 billion yuan. Bordrin acquired Junsheng Battery in 2017 and partnered with Sinochem in the development of its battery assembly line with a capacity of 100,000 units. Cnstruction on the Junsheng Battery Production Base began in August 2018. |

Week 11 2019 Bordrin reveals teaser images of upcoming EV SUV
Chinese EV startup Bordrin Motors released a set of teaser images of
its upcoming mid-sized electric SUV to be revealed at a company event on
11 April 2019. Bordrin is expected to launch the EV SUV which will be
assembled by FAW Jilin at the end of the year. The mid-sized fice seat
electric SUV has a wheelbase of 2900mm and is available in two power
options with a 0-62mph acceleration of around 6 and 8 seconds for the
two options. The Bordrin EV SUV has an NEDC range of 550km (344 miles)
and will be equipped with SAE Level 2 autonomous capabilities.
