The BAIC EX5 SUV EV is expected in 2018 and is targeted as a larger SUV than the current EX260. The test model rolled off the line in July 2017 and presented to the press. The BAIC EX5 hails from two concept vehicles introduced in 2016 and 2017. The BAIC EX400L SUV EV was introduced in April at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show and is a longer range version of the BAIC EX300L which was released at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show. The BAIC EX5 is officially available from the 27th of January 2018, and apart from being equipped with BAIC’s e-Motion Drive 3.0 intelligent electronic control system, it can also connect its battery with other vehicles and electronic appliances with its V2V and V2L bidirectional chargers. The BAIC EX5 electric SUV is available in four trims and priced from ¥188,800 before subsidies.
