Pininfarina acquired in 2015 by Mahindra for $168m created its own auto division focused on fully electric vehicles, Automobili Pininfarina based in Munich. The company aims to develop a range of extremely luxurious and high-performance electric vehicles. The first in the range is the PFO Hypercar unveiled in August 2018 in Monterey, California. The ultra-luxurious Pininfarina PFO electric hypercar will be unveiled in 2019 and available in 2020 in ultra-low volumes. Of the expected 200 models that will be built around 50 units will be for the USA.
