Welcome to wattEV2buy’s report for China EV sales in March 2018. We look at the Top brands and models, the gainers and losers and how the battle between battery electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technologies play out.

The highlights for Chinese electric car sales in January were:

  • Chinese EV Sales nearly doubled on that of February, selling 55,723 units.
  • The BAIC EC180 took back its crown but failed to breach the 10,000 unit level.
  • A total of 40,947 pure electric (BEV) and 14,776 plug-in hybrid models were sold in March 2018.
  • The best selling segment was BEV cars, selling 30,645 units followed by BEV SUVs which sold 10,070 units.
