Volvo unveiled the Volvo 40.1 Concept and Volvo 40.2 Concept EVs in 2017 and in January announced the intent to produce the Volvo 40.2 Concept EV on the company’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform. Volvo’s CMA platform is capable or electric motor outputs ranging from 100kW (134 hp) to 450 kW (603 hp). The battery pack of the platform is located in the center tunnel and can be sized to 100kWh capacity. The Volvo Concept 40.2 is expected to have an electric range in the region of 482km.
