The Opel Ampera is a rebadge of the Chevrolet Volt for the European market; the vehicle is also known as the Holden Volt in Australia and New Zealand and the Vauxhall Ampera in the UK. Sales of the Ampera commenced in 2011. Various changes were made to the battery system over the years with the first generation being the years 2011 to 2015 and the second generation launched in 2016.
