2018 Week 38 - Audi set pricing for the Audi E-tron Quattro EV
Audi set pricing for the Audi E-tron Quattro EV at the launch of the pure electric car this week in San Francisco. The Audi E-tron Quattro will be first available late 2018 in Germany at a starting price of €79,900. The E-tron Quattro will be available in the USA from Q2 2019. AUDI will list a limited model of the Audi e-tron, the E-tron Quattro Edition 1 at a price of $86,700, The base model of E-tron Quattro will be available in the USA at a price of $74,800 but the German automaker did not specify from when, just that it will be later.
2018 Week 36 - Production of e-tron Quattro commences
Audi announced that the production of the Audi e-tron Quattro commenced on Monday the 3rd of September at its Brussels plant. Audi will officially unveil the e-tron in San Francisco on the 17th of the month. The project to re-tool the plant started in summer 2016 while employees received more than 200,000 hours of training to prepare for the assembly of the e-tron. Audi is also producing its own batteries which are delivered by autonomous vehicles.
Managing Director of Audi Brussels, Patrick Danau said – “Audi built up numerous competencies in-house for the Audi e-tron and developed both the battery technology and the actual drive system itself. And employees rethought, planned and implemented many stages of production.”
2018 Week 27 - Audi showcase e-tron Quattro interior
Audi’s announcement last week that it would delay the launch of the e-tron Quattro due to the arrest of its CEO in the #dieselgate investigation has caused a marketing headache for the German company. To fill the uncertain void the company this week released more teasers of the highly anticipated luxury SUV. Audi showcased the interior of the e-tron Quattro at the Royal Danish Playhouse in Copenhagen. Here are some images from the press release.
2018 Week 26 - Audi postpones launch of e-tron Quattro
Audi CEO was the first high-level head to be arrested in the ongoing #dieselgate investigation, leading to the company postponing the much-anticipated launch of the Audi e-tron Quattro EV later this year. The scheduled unveiling was set for August 30 in Brussels, but this was moved to the USA on an unspecified date.
2018 Week 10 - Q6 E-tron prototype unveiled.
Audi unveiled the prototype for its first all-electric model at the Geneva Motor Show, the Audi E-Tron Q6 SUV. Audi announced that until the start of series production, almost 250 development vehicles would complete testing under extreme conditions worldwide over more than five million test kilometers (3,106,856 mi) on four continents. The production version of the Audi e-tron prototype has a 150 kW charging capacity, allowing recharging in 30 minutes. The production version of the Audi e-tron launches on the European market at the end of 2018.
